Kornhauser, Edward T.
Edward T. Kornhauser (1925-1988), professor of engineering, was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on June 30, 1925. He served in the Navy during World War II, then received his bachelor of electrical engineering degree from Cornell in 1945, and his master of science and Ph.D. degrees, both from Harvard, in 1947 and 1949. He came to Brown as assistant professor of physics in 1951, and was assistant professor of engineering in 1955-56, after which he became associate professor of engineering in 1956, and professor in 1963. In 1959-60 he was a visiting lecturer and NATO Fellow at the University of Bristol in England. He died in Providence on November 17, 1988.
